Product Description

Radon, a naturally occurring, radioactive gas is the second largest cause of lung cancer in the UK after smoking, and is found in large areas of the UK. Radon accumulates in buildings through cracks in the rock or sub-soil, which is why you need to identify if your site is in a radon risk area and put the necessary measures in place to protect against this. Consult – the Health Protection Agency website – for affected areas.

Radon Membrane - Manufactured from an enhanced blend of polymer films, Visqueen Radon Membrane is designed to protect buildings from the ingress of Radon gas, and also acts as a Damp Proof Membrane.

Independently certified by BRE to meet UK and Irish Building Regulations, Visqueen Radon Membrane follows guidance in accordance with BRE Report BR 211. The Radon Membrane System will act as an effective passive radon membrane when installed in accordance with our installation guidelines.

CO2 Gas

Carbon Dioxide is a colourless gas commonly found on landfill, coalfield or contaminated industrial sites, and can result in asphyxiation when present in high levels. The Building Regulations require that proper precautions be taken to prevent danger to health and safety when building on contaminated land.

CO2 Membrane

Visqueen CO2 Gas Membrane offers a safe solution for the protection buildings against Carbon dioxide, when installed in accordance with BR 414 and CIRIA C665. A robust co-polymer thermoplastic construction, Visqueen CO2 gas membrane is yellow for ease of identification on site and provides ease of identification on site and provides ease of installation.

- Low permeability to Carbon Dioxide

-Also acts as a flexible damp proof membrane.

Methane Gas

Commonly found on sewage treatment localities, peat bogs, landfill and mining sites, Methane is an odourless flammable gas that is explosive when released into the atmosphere and exposed to a source of ignition - even at levels as low as 5%.

Gas Barrier

With an advanced multi-layer lamination, Visqueen Gas Barrier offers a safe solution for the protection of buildings and occupiers against methane, radon and carbon dioxide gases. The LDPE polyethylene includes an aluminium core, providing a reinforced protection layer whilst retaining flexibility for easy installation.

GX Geomembrane 

Designed for brownfield sites that require protection from dangerous contaminants such as hydrocarbons and methane, Visqueen GX Geomembrane is a high performance blend of ethylene co-polymers providing a HDPE layer that also acts as a damp proof membrane. With high puncture and impact resistance, Visqueen GX Geomembrane provides flexibility and removes the cost requirement of protective screed or boarding when covered with reinforced concrete.
